A card and some good news!

Lila bug is one of my favourites of Kirsty's new images/stamps, so here is another card featuring her - with wings this time!

I'm really happy with this card - I love the colours of the papers (Basic Grey Capella 6x6 pad). She was, of course, coloured with ProMarkers, as were the flowers, leaves and thread. The Wish ticket was, I think, a freebie on Kirsty's blog.

This weekend I've been doing my first ever demo for Letraset ProMarkers at Hobbycraft in Chester. It was the store's 5th birthday so they had lots of fun planned with demos, face painting, balloon modelling and two poor husbands/partners dressed up as a ball of wool and a giant cupcake! I really enjoyed the two days sharing my "knowledge" (ha!) and chatting to other ProMarker lovers! Hopefully I've converted a few new people over the weekend...

My good news is that I've been accepted onto a digi scrapping Creative Team - whoop whoop! So I am now creating layouts for Sweet Blossom Designs (blog is here) - I've just done my first layout so will show it next Friday when the kit becomes available. Now I have a proper excuse to hog the laptop...!

Lila

Just one card today, showcasing the lovely Lila Bug. She comes with wings but I've very cruelly chopped them off for this card - don't worry, they'll be back!

ProMarkers have been used as much as possible again, including the paper that the flowers were punched from - I have a bit of a thing for these flower punches at the moment...

More Buglets

A couple more bits made with Kirsty Wiseman's new Buglets.

The first is a tag made with Petit Bug - this was the result of a happy accident - I printed her out too small to start with, she was absolutely swamped on the card! I'd already coloured her by the time I realised this so made a tag instead to match the card.

She is coloured with ProMarkers, and again, I've used some of Kirsty's Par Avion digi papers. The tag and ribbon were both coloured with ProMarkers and the baker's twine is from The Ribbon Girl (and took some finding in my ribbon box - which is still not sorted...)

The second is Mima Bug - she's such a cutie with her little teddy bear. Versatile too as you can cut the bear away if you don't want it (though that would be just plain mean).

Once again, she is coloured with ProMarkers, as was the seam binding (The Ribbon Girl), sewing thread, gems and circle behind Mima. The papers are gorgeous Basic Grey Kioshi.

You may notice that I'm using my ProMarkers in as many ways as possible - I'm demonstrating them at Hobbycraft in Chester at the weekend so am making samples to show how versatile they are!

Kirsty Wiseman's Petit Bug

Kirsty Wiseman has some new digi stamps on her website HERE. I have a few coloured up ready to make into cards but until I get those done, here is my first using Petit Bug...

She's been coloured with ProMarkers, as has the ribbon, which started off white. The papers are from Kirsty's Par Avion set which is also available from her website.

So, this weekend saw me and my friend Susanne visiting our friend Katy in London. Saturday basically consisted of us eating our way across the capital! We started out at The Icecreamists in Covent Garden... lots of gorgeous ice cream (including breast milk - which we did NOT try...)

Ice cream cocktails - what could be better than having meringue blow torched at your table?!

Next stop was The Hummingbird Bakery in Soho - Black Bottomed Cupcake and Sticky Toffee Cupcake to takeaway...

And then Cox Cookies & Cake - 2 Fizz Whizzes please! Note the strategic placement of us under the sign (titter)

Final stop (via Selfridges) was La Fromagerie - three tasting plates later (between us!) and we were done!

All walked off (I wish) with the walk through Regents Park and Primrose Hill back to West Hampstead. Phew!

Stay tuned for more Buglets later in the week.

Camels

We're on to Challenge 3 set by Vicki at A Work in Progress - the theme of which is "Weather".

Sticking two fingers up to our recent nasty weather I decided to reminisce about our holiday to Tunisia where we rode camels in the Sahara. The kit I've used is "One Fine Day" by Sweet Blossom Designs - gorgeous, bright colours, which were perfect for my photos!

Chocolate Crackle Cookies

I had a go at making Chocolate Crackle Cookies today - I found them on the Martha Stewart website via Bakerella. The recipe was, of course, in American measures so once I'd converted them they may not have been quite right but they taste good! Be warned, the recipe makes a LOT of cookies - I managed to get 48 out of the mixture (47 actually...Connor was helping and one made it's way into his mouth!) and these definitely require some investment time-wise. The mix is not your typical cookie dough, mine was more the consistency of a cake mix, but an hour in the fridge then an hour in the freezer helped. Oh, and I also substituted half of the dark chocolate with milk chocolate - I'm not a fan of dark chocolate and I was bearing in mind that Connor would probably snaffle a few...

My "helper"...
