C Day

Today's the day we make the cupcakes for my friend's wedding. The fruit cakes are made and marzipanned ready for icing today too. We start at lunchtime - excited but nervous too... I still have my cast on so good job I have some help! I go back to the fracture clinic in two weeks - hopefully I can get the cast off - it's VERY annoying!
So, here is a layout from a recent release from Artgal Style at Scrap That Idea - "Fly Lady Bug"...

And some more cake pics - After Eight cupcakes...

Love the Instagram app on the iPhone...

And the ToonPAINT app...

I'll post photos of the wedding cakes once the wedding is over. Wish us luck!

A nice "break" in Wales

Literally! The last day of our holiday and I fell over and broke my wrist - in denial, we left it till today to go to A&E in the hopes that it was just a sprain. I came home with this...

So this post is going to take slightly longer than intended to type!

Firstly, if you haven't already, please take a look at this post HERE by Kirsty Wiseman - she is raising funds for a friend whose dog Daisy needs an operation which is going to cost £1600. They've already far exceeded this but any extra funds are being split between the Dogs Trust and the Aspergers Society. There are MASSES of prizes up for grabs so it's well worth buying a ticket (or two!), and you don't have to live in the UK to enter!

Here's a layout using a Sweet Blossom Designs kit that I should have shown last week (tut tut, slap on the wrist). At the time it was part of a grab bag for National Scrapbook Day but I think it's now available as a separate kit.

And here's my layout for this weeks kit "Early Bird"...

I'm at the fracture clinic on Tuesday, fingers crossed my wrist is healing nicely!

Tiddly Inks Puzzle Adventure Blog Hop

Tiddly Inks is currently celebrating it's first birthday. Last week they had a pirate themed blog hop but today everyone gets to take part in the hop! Here is my card for the hop...

I've used the "You and Me" image, coloured with ProMarkers and Stickles. The papers are Basic Grey, with lots of distressing on the edges and some stiching too. The ribbon is seam binding from the Ribbon Girl, coloured with ProMarkers to match the papers.

Hope you enjoy the hop!

Ooooh, a card!

I actually managed a card this week! Amazing, I know, not had a card to show in what feels like an age...

The image is from Tiddly Inks - coloured with ProMarkers with the addition of some Stickles. No change there then. I got to use my new Nestabilities die - love it! You'll be seeing it again shortly...

And...more cakes!

Mini Black Forest Cakes...

Lemon Cupcakes...

Off to a wedding tomorrow - hoping the weather is ok!

Lots of layouts...ok, three, will that do?

I have a few layouts to show today - in the next few days I'll actually have some cards to share!

This first layout is using the latest monthly collaboration from Scrap That Idea, called Fun of the Fair. It's a lovely bright kit, with some gorgeous papers and elements...

This one uses their freebie collaboration kit A-May-Zing which is free when you spend over $5 during May...

This last layout was actually just for fun and not done as part of a creative team. The kit is A Royal Knees Up by Vicki (A Work in Progress), also available at Scrap That Idea.
As everyone in the world must surely be aware, we had a royal wedding on Friday. I'm not a massive royalist but Kate & William seem to make such a lovely couple that I just had to watch the wedding. It was a fantastic occasion - full of pomp and ceremony - something I think us Brits do well! There were lots of parties and street parties across the nation - we ended up at a party and the layout below shows the cupcakes I made for the occasion.

All three were Vanilla - the white ones were filled with apricot jam, the red with strawberry jam and the blue with blueberry. And they were the first things I made with this beautiful, gorgeous addition to my kitchen...

I'm in love with it already - worth every penny (and lets face it, penny is the wrong word here, pound would be more appropriate!).
