More ProMarkers

Here is my card for the I ♥ ProMarkers challenge which is to follow a sketch and also, quite scarily, to not use backing papers, but to make your own. I've used a Coco image from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with ProMarkers and Stickled. My green backing paper was made by stamping a flower flourish with distress inks for a subtle background. The blue paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I'm sat watching Married Single Other from last night, blubbing my eyes out, then, once Tim is back from footie and I've reapplied my mascara we're off to see the MIL as it's her birthday. Hope you all have a lovely day!

My First Easel Card!

I've had a lovely last couple of days, the weather hasn't been too bad, Connor has been in fine form (despite me spotting his first tooth coming through!) and I treated myself to Final Fantasy XIII, which I've been eagerly anticipating the release of for ages. - I also have the Dancing on Ice tour next month to look forward too! It'll be lovely to spend a few days with my folks and I'm sure they're excited about spending some time with Connor, who is currently pulling Amy's ears while she investigates him for ricecake crumbs!
Anyway, the challenge this week at Just Magnolia is to make an easel card. I haven't made one yet so thought this was an excellent opportunity. I've also followed the sketch at Passion for ProMarkers.

The image is Tilda with Sunflower, coloured with PMs and Stickled. I don't have any Nestabilities but was sent the bottom mount when I bought something from ebay - the top layer (with Tilda on) was cut out using a Fiskers shape cutter template. I never really got away with using the shape cutter itself so just drew the shape using the template and cut it out with scissors! Everything on the card was distressed with Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and/or Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks, including the lace ribbon which was white. I think the distressing brings all of the papers together nicely. It all went quite smoothly for my first easel card, next time though I need to remember that the back of the card can be seen - I'd wrapped the lace round then realised you could see it on the back and it didn't look very nice so had to mount it on white card. Never mind, I know for next time!

I ♥ ProMarkers!!!

Here is a card for the I ♥ ProMarkers challenge, I used the colour combo from the Passion for ProMarkers challenge but spent so long agonising over the card that I didn't have time to enter! The colour combo was Mango and Bright Green, which I found really hard to work with, but then, I guess that's all part of the challenge!
This week at I ♥ ProMarkers the challenge is to follow this sketch

and here is my card

The image is the Gorjuss "Flower Girl" which you can get here. She is, of course, coloured with PMs and Stickled. The punched border was done using a Fiskers punch but I reckon I'm going to have to put some Martha's on my wish list!

Happy Mothers Day...an update!

As mentioned in my previous post, I had already received my Mothers Day present a few weeks ago. So, I was quite surprised when I opened the door to these...

Tim says Connor sat on the laptop and ordered them all by himself, using his pocket money. Not sure I believe him, but I am feeling like a very lucky mummy!

I've made some chocolate truffles for my MILs present using a recipe from this months Good Food magazine. I amended the recipe a bit and made Dark Chocolate Orange with a dash of Cointreau and Milk Chocolate with a dash of Baileys - they have been tested and are yummy!

We're off to see the in-laws later then once the little man is in bed I can settle down to watch Dancing on Ice, Hayley was fab last week but we need someone to catch up to her so there's a bit more competition!

Happy Mothers Day...

.. to all those Mothers out there (including my own!). This is my first Mothers Day, Connor gave me a card with a very soppy message inside - funny, his writing is just like Tims! I got my present a few weeks back (the Tim Holtz TSV), but unfortunately no lie-in for me today as Tim is on nights and Connor was already wide awake by the time Tim got home!
Anyway, here is a card for the Papertake Weekly and Cupcake Craft challenges. Photoshop was playing up so I'm posting this a little later than planned, cutting it a bit fine for the Cupcake deadline!
Cupcake Crafts challenge this week is "Flower Power" and Papertake Weekly is to follow this sketch

I've used the DigiStamp Boutique image "Spring Coco", coloured as usual with PMs and a bit of Stickle (Distress for a change, though on reflection, normal Stickles may have looked better). I added a bit of Glossy Accents to his nose to make him a bit more teddy bear-like!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Three Challenges in One Card

Hi, hope you're all having a nice day, unfortunately the weather today isn't as nice as it has been but it's still pretty good for March!
I am entering todays card in three, yes three, challenges. I feel a bit cheeky but if it fits the challenges then why not?! So, the challenges are:
Simon Says Stamps challenge over at Paper Craft Planet, which is to use the colours Teal, Dark Brown and Vanilla,
Sketch Saturday which is the following sketch

and Totally Gorjuss is to follow this sketch, which is quite similar to the Sketch Saturday sketch, which is why I thought I could get away with my card being entered into both challenges!

So, here is my card. The image is Gorjuss Girls "A little birdie told me" from Funky Kits, coloured with ProMarkers and Stickled as usual. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny, sadly I've nearly finished this paper so must get more! The flowers were a Poundland(World?) find by my mam, which I stamped with Distress Ink and then dusted with Mica. The flowers were then edged with a Sakura metallic pen then Stickled.

The card is winging it's way to my mam for Mother's Day so she has been ordered not to read this until she has opened it!

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge

The challenge at I ♥ ProMarkers this week is to make a shaped card - which is indeed a challenge as I rarely make cards that aren't the usual rectangle or square!
So, I went with a circle, and as I don't own any templates, I dug out my compass. Quite possibly it's first use ever!
The image is "Coco and Flowers" from Digi Stamp Boutique, coloured, of course, with ProMarkers and only a tiny bit of Stickles. To make up for the lack of Stickles on Coco I added some to my big flower!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

Here is my card for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, which this week is to use beads somewhere on your project.
For this card I've used Leanne Ellis' "Pick Me" stamp (of course coloured with PMs and stickled), which has been layered on to a background I made using a watermark distress method from Tim Holtz's new book. The edges were distressed and edged with Stickles and the flowers were also given some Stickles treatment!

A lesson learnt

Here is a card which I am entering into the Anyone for Anya and Passion for ProMarkers challenges. The challenge at PfP this week is to use the colours Tulip Yellow and Baby Pink, with the addition of stitching (real or fake!). Anyone for Anya is to follow this sketch...

I used "80s Anya" from The Greetings Farm (I think she was a limited edition stamp) - she's been coloured wwith PMs and Stickled as usual. The flowers are chipboard which has been coloured with Distress inks then covered in Rock Candy Distress Crackle - and here is the lesson learnt - covering chipboard with Stickles then Distress Crackle DOES NOT WORK! The Distress Crackle dried and lifted off the chipboard along with the Stickles AND ink!
