Here is a nice wide shot of my workspace this week...
I (we) went to Ikea and bought some new shelving units which you can see behind the chair and drawers. The metal drawers next to them and under the desk are new too...my aim is to get rid of the plastic drawer units. Basically I'm fed up of having to pile everything up on my desk when people come to stay so the theory is that more storage means less mess...realistically I know that this won't work but I have good intentions!
As you can see I'm still sorting stuff out...my WIP at the moment is the yellow box on my desk which is waiting for a second coat of paint, the plan is for it to become a stationery box full of notelets and envelopes for my hubbys Grandma.
Hopefully I'll get round a few of your workdesks tonight though I'm not promising anything!
loved having a rummage around your crafty space today and have fun sorting out your new storage...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteAnd the plastic drawers, however useful, are not as pretty as your new stuff....yum to that metal drawer unit! Good luck with the sorting. Am loving your 'spare room' logic...you go girl!

Plastic drawers are so practical, but these new shelves just make the room. I'm sure once everything is sorted out, it will be easier to keep clean. I realize I'm really late to the party today. My internet was down at the wrong time. Happy WOYWW.

ReplyDeleteOh and good luck with the new storage, it's always great to have more space:D xx
Like your new storage, problem is the more storage you get the more you end up filling it LOL, well I do anyway. Great work area. Have a lovely day, Tracy Evans x
ReplyDeleteI can't believe u have all that stuff/space and yet the tiniest memo board I've ever seen on the wall, lol
ReplyDeletewhere is the workspace? hahahah - you will be full of storage and no work top!!!! and those plastic drawers? they will suddenly become indipensible as, you well know, craft stash multiplies overnght and at a greater rate than you can buy drawers to contain it...

Ooh, the shelving unit looks like Expedit. Great system. Isn't it fun to put your stuff into new storage? Unfortunately it still will pile up on your desk (life experience...)
ReplyDeleteGood intentions are for free :) But, hey, why don't you keep the plastic drawers, crafty goodies multiplies so fast!

Always fun when one gets new stuff to organize stuff! I constantly keep buying stuff and then forget where it all is anyway. LOL Glad to follow on your blog.
ReplyDeleteWOW Maz - I CANNOT wait for the after picture... don't worry - my before picture was horrendous - my OH converted the conservatory for me and I have those Expedit shelving unit too and you don't half fill them up quick!!! (then some). I have two of the 8 blocks and recon I could easily do with another - trouble is where do I put it? i'm not ready to forfeit the sofa and TV that is there, as I sit on the sofa with create and craft on and blog... heaven!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the transformation.
