The earrings I made yesterday, as promised. I'm very pleased with them, they hang really nicely - the beads look kinda brown on the photo but they are a nice red in real life.

Smells like teen spirit...
...which is my tenuous link to my first attempt at making a "grunge" card.
Apologies yet again for the lack of photography skills - the photo doesn't really show off the card in all it's glory!
I used as many grunge/distress type products as I thought I could get away with on one card (playing with my new Tim Holtz goodies - I LOVE the book). I made some flowers too but decided they didn't really go so have kept those back for another project.
I also made a bracelet which was given as a present to go with the card - simple to make but looks really pretty methinks!
I've managed to make some earrings today so will show those tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be allowed to spend some time crafting tomorrow too!

Papertake Weekly Sketch #35
Here is my entry for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge, which is to use the following sketch...
I've used "Angelinas Balloons" by Mo Manning (forgot to mention yesterday that I won a prize in their recent blog hop - woohoo!). She is coloured with PMs, glittered with Stickles and her balloons have been Glossy Accented.
I got an e-mail this morning to say my Tim Holtz goodies have been shipped - is it too much to ask for that they arrive tomorrow? I've started playing with my alcohol inks but now want to grunge up my image and try out my blending tool!

Sir Tim
I've spent the day with QVC pretty much constantly on the TV. I stayed up to watch Sir Tim's TSV (which I bought...), have to say I've been a bit disappointed in the lack of demos - I guess QVC underestimated the popularity of the Tim/Ranger stuff once again. On a slightly related note, I "needed" some alcohol inks so bought some a couple of weeks ago - hopefully I'll have something to show soon.
A few cards to show today...
I've been playing with my Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick Embossing Crystals - I'm slowly working out how much to use, but the great thing is that you can just remelt them if it doesn't work out right! I've kept the cards quite simple as I think the main focus should be the embellishment... My next step is to try making some different shapes.
The next card (from Connor to his Grandad) was my first attempt at paper piecing using the Mo Manning image "Sumpin's Wrong".
My latest fad is learning to crochet - I'll have some attempts to show soon!

Cosmic Shimmeryness
First, a card for a friends little girls 1st birthday. I've used Mo Manning's Birthday Fairy Lee, coloured with PMs and Stickled as usual.
I had a chance to play with my new Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick Embossing crystals the other night. I used Sheena Douglass' pie tin method of heating up the crystals and then pouring them onto my non stick craft sheet and embossing into it before it hardened. I finished it off with a bit of mica powder. I was really pleased with the result and felt that it was unnecessary to put much else onto the card so have kept it quite simple.
I'm definitely going to have another go at this as it's really easy to do but produces really effective results!

And now for something completely different...
I have something a bit different to show today, there's a card as well, of course...
I bought some canvas paper for printing on a few months ago but hadn't done anything with it ... until now! I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while but have only just put it on paper (so to speak!).
I did the text in Photoshop and then just printed it onto the canvas paper - easy peasy! The canvas is then wrapped round a frame (from Ikea) so it can be hung or stood up like a normal photo frame. I'll definitely be having a go at some more, though I may struggle with a boys version as I'll have to find something other than flowers to embellish it with!
And here is the card to go with it
I've used Mo Mannings "Em", coloured with PMs (naturally) and glittered with Stickles and glimmer chalks.
So, as you've probably guessed, we're at a Christening tomorrow, but I have another evenings crafting planned for tomorrow night. I had a little splurge this week (hmmm, not that little actually considering I'm meant to be waiting for the Tim Holtz TSV) and bought some Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick embossing crystals after watching Sheena Douglass demoing with them so I'm hoping to have a play with them!
