Here is my layout from last nights cybercrop - the good thing about digi scrapbooking is that I don't need to wait for daylight to get a decent pic of it!

The papers etc mainly came from kits by Summertime Designs (fab free kits) and A Work in Progress.

WOYWW...

...or rather What's On Your Living Room Floor! I've not done WOYWW for a while - you may remember that I was having a craft room overhaul, well, guess what? Still not finished! Well, it is, kind of, but it's still a mess!

As you can see I'm sorting ribbons - having procrastinated for some time as to how to store my ribbons (currently just thrown into a box) I've decided to to get on with it. Got some jars from Ikea and off I go! Think I'll sit and watch a film while I do it. They all look pretty in the jars so far but I'm well aware that they'll be a mess in no time!

It's pretty similar to a card I made a few weeks ago, but it's a nice simple design so can be made in no time, handy when you need to make a quick card!

A couple of bits

Just a couple of bits to show today - not been crafting much, though must get my bum in gear for Christmas!

First off, a birthday card using a few bits from the Scrapagogo October kit - mainly the printable hybrids...

And now, catching up with a few scrapbook pages from the Wednesday night cybercrop...

Cards and stuff...

Hmmm, should give myself a slap on the wrist - naughty blogger, not blogged in two weeks! I have plenty to show today to make up for it though...so let's not dilly dally...

A few cards first...

A simple butterfly card using papers from Kirsty Wiseman, a Tonic Studios Multi Detail Butterfly punch and ribbon from The Ribbon Girl

Next, some tags for a tag swap set up by Kirsty - I am VERY late doing these and feel incredibly guilty but they are done and ready to go to the post office tomorrow morning. Each tag is meant to have an inspirational quote on - I decided to take all mine from films. The heart image is Tiddly Inks "Love Hurts", sprayed with Dylusions ink sprays (Fuschia, Hot Pink & Pomegranate) and Cosmic Shimmer spray (Red Firefly), then highlighted with a swoosh of Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint. The wing stamps are from a random set me and my mam found, trouble is I've thrown the packet away so not sure who does them...they've been highlighted with Stickles. The twine is from The Ribbon Girl.

Now, on to my layout from last Wednesday's cyber crop. As you can see I've moved on to Mexico (and 12x12 rather than 8x8 - go me!). I've started subscribing to the Scrapagogo monthly kits so this was an excuse to break into Octobers kit.

And finally (at last, I hear you cry!)...my friend Susanne asked me to make a hair comb to go with a dress she's wearing to a formal do next month. Here is the result...

I've started my second tiara and have plenty of beads ready for more!

2 years ago...

... I became a wife and bagged myself a lovely husband! We haven't done much today, but we did have a takeaway curry last night! I haven't felt up to much as I've had a pretty bad tension headache since yesterday dinnertime, it seems to be going now, I just can't move my eyes around too much as I can still feel the pressure behind them. We were booked on a tour on some tunnels under Manchester yesterday evening, I really didn't want to miss it so I dosed myself up with various drugs and soldiered on. I'm glad I did as it was very interesting. I'd love to see more, but the public aren't allowed into most of it...

So, anyway, here is my card to Tim, using the "Happy Couple" image from Tiddly Inks...

I love this image and have been looking for an excuse to buy it for a while now! I felt I needed to get my moneys worth so I've also used it for this weeks Tiddly Inks challenge, which is to make an ATC. Not something I've done before, but I loved being limited to that small space...

I've made them into a wall hanging for a friend's Wedding Anniversary...

And finally, my layout for Kirsty's cyber crop last week. I'm running out of Egypt photos - so it's either Mexico or Tunisia next I think!

How time flies...

Wow, this week has totally passed me by! We went to visit some friends in Kent this weekend (now that felt like the looooongest drive ever), down on Friday, back on Sunday, it was only last night that I realised I still hadn't done my Tiddly Inks card, so here I am, sneaking in at the last minute...so much so that my Crackle isn't dry...

I've used Fairy Fae Catches A Star, coloured with ProMarkers as usual. Her wings are covered in Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint, which is just starting to dry. She's also been accented with a bit of Stardust Stickles. The background paper is wrapping paper from Paperchase - I could wander around Paperchase for hours, they have such gorgeous stuff in there...

I also realised as I clicked on "New Post" that my last post was a week ago so I still have my layout from Wednesday's cyber crop to show...rubbish pic as usual

Was really pleased with this one - not least because I used my new gilding flakes...

That's it for tonight, but hopefully I'll have more to share this week as hubby is on nights so I have my evenings to myself! I shall leave you with a pic of Father and Son, my two favourite boys.

Here's my card for the latest Tiddly Inks challenge which is to follow a sketch...

This turned out to be one of those cards. You know where you have an image in your mind of how it's going to work, but the reality just isn't right? As you can see from the photo, the sentiment is on the inside of the card - to cut the shapes in the front of the card I used my cuttlebug, not thinking about the fact that the die was going to have to cut through a piece of card and two pieces of paper...I'd already stuck my ribbon on too so it was a struggle getting it all through the machine! The stitching ended up bigger than I'd intended, and the lettering doesn't look how I wanted it to... Consequently, this has been a WIP for several days, and I'm still not sure about it! Never mind, we live and learn...

I've been busy...

A few things to show you today...

Firstly, a card for my little (or not so little anymore) brother's birthday. As I've said before, I struggle with men's cards, so this time I attempted a little bit of grunge, with...hmmm...ok results!

I'm entering this card in this weeks Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities challenge which is to use the Alcohol Ink Agate on Grunge technique on page 53 in Tim's book. It's not obvious but I did stamp onto the grunge! The bird is a chipboard piece by Tattered Angels which I sanded and inked the edges of and the sentiment background in your common household brown paper, inked with Distress inkpads (the paper took the inks really well btw).

I also have another scrapbook page to show you! Yes, page number 4 of the Egypt holiday has been completed courtesy of Kirsty Wiseman's Wednesday night cyber crop...

Finally, today I've been at a Tiara making class at The Bead Shop in Afflecks Palace. The class was run by Perri Shenton, who was lovely, and a great teacher...

I'm hoping to make some more over the next few months then start selling them - I'll keep you updated on my progress!

It's Tim's birthday weekend after next so I'm being incredibly organised (for me) and have got Connor to make a birthday card for his Daddy - isn't he talented?...

The image is from Tiddly Inks and is coloured with ProMarkers, with Glossy Accented noses! The image is so cute I knew it would be perfect for hubby's birthday. I should probably point out that our son is only one and obviously incapable of producing anything more than a few crayon scribbles or a smeary painted handprint...yes, the card is my own work and therefore I'm entering it in to this weeks Tiddly Inks challenge...

King Tut

Here is my layout for last nights cyber crop hosted by Kirsty Wiseman.

I struggled a bit last night, I must admit, I was feeling very underinspired - nothing to do with the sketch, that helped immensely! As did Kirsty's UStream feed of her scrapping at the same time - it all adds to the feeling of being at a crop, but without leaving your house!

What a difference a bit of daylight makes!

As you'll gather, the page carries on my Egypt photo scrapping. We went to the Valley of the Kings and, naturally, had to go in King Tut's tomb. Unfortunately you're not allowed to take your camera in so the only pic we have is of us stood in the entrance, me looking particularly hot and bothered as we'd just climbed about 50 million steps and it was HOT.

A very merry Un-birthday to youuuuu!

The challenge over at Tiddly Inks this week has had me singing this tune in my head for days! The challenge was to make a birthday card, but as Christy wished everyone a happy un-birthday, I just had to do an Alice inspired card, using of course, the Alice and the Mad Hatter images...

The images have been coloured with ProMarkers, I've tried to follow the colours from the film (the original Disney cartoon, not the wierdo Tim Burton one...which I've still not seen) and the papers are from Kirsty Wiseman - perfect for a Mad Hatter's Tea Party! The whole card is possibly a bit too bright, but then surely that's in keeping with the theme?! Oh, and I've even Glossy Accented the watch, though you can't see it here.

My next card tonight is simplicity itself...

The butterfly is from a wooden dangly ornament thingy (descriptive) from Paperchase, sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer. The papers are Kirsty's again, the middle bit is cut with a Nestabilities Die. Yes, I've joined the 21st century, binned off my ten tonne original Sizzix machine and got a Cuttlebug, well done me.

Cyber crop Pt 2

Last night was the second cyber crop organised by Kirsty Wiseman - you can find the challenge here, which was to follow the sketch, use the recipe, or both! There was also a freebie download, a lovely curly swirly frame.

Kirsty treated us to a live UStream feed while she created her own page - lots of hilarity ensued and fun was had by all, a few people just came on to chat. Personally, my computer is on the other side of the room so I didn't do much chatting. I'll have my laptop next to me next time, though not sure Kirsty will be UStreaming again!

A Few Quick Cards

Just a couple of quick cards to show tonight using Tiddly Inks digistamps.

The first is using Big Wishes Bean...

Coloured with ProMarkers as usual and the papers and sentiment are from Kirsty Wiseman.

And this one using the coloured Roboto (which I think was a freebie on the PCP Tiddly Inks group, but don't quote me on that)...

I layered the image up, added a few Stickles and the papers and sentiment are from Kirsty Wiseman.

There's another cyber crop over at Kirsty's blog tomorrow night if you're interested...2 hours to do a layout (or something else is you're really not a scrapper) using a sketch or recipe, or both!

Hot Chicken Soup

Ok, so I've not been around for a bit... we've had various things going on - visitors, my 30 somethingth birthday, and best of all, Connor is now walking! Crawling is still his fastest mode of travelling but he's using his feet more and more...hurrah!

So, having not done any crafting for a week or so (but managing to spend plenty of money in Graphicus at the weekend) I plunged back in at the deep end and took part in Kirsty Wiseman's 2 hour cybercrop tonight - you can find the challenge here. I used the sketch and the recipe - it was great fun - though I must choose some photos beforehand next time as I spent the first half hour choosing which ones to use!

There'll be some journalling on the tag at the top but until then perhaps I should explain the title... the pictures are of Hatshepsut's temple in Egypt near the Valley of the Kings (quite possibly the hottest place I have EVER been). The guide kept calling her "Hot Chicken Soup", trying to be funny, it's stuck with us ever since, though we can remember her name so perhaps it wasn't that silly!

Stationery and a card

For those who saw my WOYWW post, here is the completed stationery box which had just had it's first coat of paint...

And the inside of the box...containing notelets and envelopes...

All the papers are from Kirsty Wiseman's Call of the Wild CD which you can get HERE. I was inspired to do this by Janey Pye who made a gorgeous stationery folder using papers from the same CD. I don't think it's posted on her blog but there are pictures on Facebook!

This was a present for my Gran-in-law whose birthday is this weekend (along with someone else...who could that be?...ME!). Here is the card to go with it...nice and simple...(ignore the scabby wallpaper in the background - left over from the previous owners!)...

I attempted a ribbon rose - which looks ok - until I tried to stick it on then it just looked rubbish, so I resorted to a Prima flower. The papers are Pink Petticoat.

I have a lovely weekend planned, my old uni friend and his (quite heavily pregnant(!)) wife are coming to stay and we're planning on meeting up with some more uni mates on Sunday - hope you all have a lovely weekend.

WOYWW - time for a change

Here is a nice wide shot of my workspace this week...

I (we) went to Ikea and bought some new shelving units which you can see behind the chair and drawers. The metal drawers next to them and under the desk are new too...my aim is to get rid of the plastic drawer units. Basically I'm fed up of having to pile everything up on my desk when people come to stay so the theory is that more storage means less mess...realistically I know that this won't work but I have good intentions!

As you can see I'm still sorting stuff out...my WIP at the moment is the yellow box on my desk which is waiting for a second coat of paint, the plan is for it to become a stationery box full of notelets and envelopes for my hubbys Grandma.

Hopefully I'll get round a few of your workdesks tonight though I'm not promising anything!

Some jewellery

Hi, what a lovely weekend we had! Was that summer?!

I've been having a play with my beady bits recently and have made a couple of pieces inspired by (for that read copied!) from the Bijoux Beads catalogue...

I also made some hair clips for my friend Susanne. She was recently a bridesmaid for her sister and was looking for something to go in her hair. I (foolishly) said I'd be able to make some cluster type hair pins...numerous hours later I decided that it was harder than it looked and went with the following instead...

She loved them and they looked really good - just wished I'd gone with them in the beginning!

I'm currently organising my workspace - you'll hopefully see the evidence in WOYWW though I'm nowhere near finished sorting it out!
